Coleman accepted to Governor’s School

Aivry Coleman Aivry Coleman Roxboro Community School (RCS) sophomore Aivry Coleman will make school history this summer, when she participates in the North Carolina Governor’s School in dance. She is the first Bulldog to be accepted in the dance program.

She received word of her acceptance on March 7, and said, “When I found out I was accepted, I was amazed. I had kind of played either situation through in my head ahead of time to prepare myself, but I still could not believe I was selected.”

Coleman has danced for 13 years – most of her life.

“I am proud of Aivry, not only for being accepted into Governor’s School, but for the work she put in to being accepted,” Roxboro Community High School Principal Darkarai Bryant said.

“She is a great talent academically, and to excel in the arts as well shows how well rounded a student she is. I congratulate her on this accomplishment.”
