Jayla Hope Graves

DURHAM — Infant Jayla Hope Graves, born in Durham, departed this life in her home on Sunday, Jan. 21, 2018.  She was the daughter of Raven Clayton and Prinston V. Graves.

In addition to her parents, she is survived by  four sisters; Ariyah Graves, Arionna Graves and Ariel Graves, all of Danville, Virginia and Karyra Tanner of Yanceyville; her maternal grandparents Elizabeth Diaz (Jose`) of Semora and Barry Clayton of Leasburg;  her paternal grandparents Princess Scoggins of Chapel Hill, and Jimmy Pyles, Jr. of Durham; her maternal great-grandparents Gayle Hagood of Milton, and Gary Hagood; her paternal great-grandmother, Bertha Pyles of Milton; and a host of other additional relatives.

A Service of Remembrance will be held on Friday, Jan. 26, 2018 at 1 p.m. at Cunningham and Nelson Funeral Home with the Rev. Eric Curtis, pastor of Victory Baptist Church, Sutherlin, Virginia, officiating and providing the eulogy. Burial will follow in the Cooper Family Cemetery, 903 Cooper Cemetery Road, Prospect Hill, NC 27314. The family will receive friends Friday at the funeral home from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m., one hour prior to the service. 

At other times, the family will receive friends at the home of her great aunt, Wanda Pyles, 3977 NC Hwy 57 N, Semora, NC 27343.

Cunningham and Nelson Funeral Directors are in charge of the service of comfort for infant Jayla Hope Graves.
