Velma Rogers Woody

Timberlake — Velma Rogers Woody, 85, of 244 Ashley Ave. died Sunday, Jan. 14, 2018 at her home. Born in Person County, Mrs. Woody was the daughter of the late Clyde Allen and Gracie Blalock Rogers.  Mrs. Woody retired from Fo-Acre Warehouse and was an active member of Somerset Baptist Church where she was a member of the WMU.  She also enjoyed attending the Christian Women’s Club.

Mrs. Woody was preceded in death by her siblings, Gadis Allen Rogers, D. Columbus Rogers, Gracie Inez Rogers Phelps, Judson Blalock Rogers, and Berlie Clay Rogers. 

Mrs. Woody is survived by her husband, Robert Jack Woody; two sons and their wives, Charles Robert and Teresa Woody and Floyd Alan and Jane Woody; one brother, Howard Thomas Rogers, of Timberlake; three grandchildren, Kelly Diane Woody, Charles Russell Woody and wife Kelly Sue and Melissa Woody Solomon and husband Brad; six great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 16, 2018 at Somerset Baptist Church by the Rev. Tom Gearhart.  Burial will  follow at Berry’s Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Cary Woody, Billy Lee, Bill Berry, Ricky Chambers, Judson Rogers and Bernard Day.  Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Timberlake Volunteer Fire Department. 

Flowers are acceptable or memorials may be made to the Timberlake Vol. Fire Department, P.O. Box 25, Timberlake, NC 27583 or the Somerset Baptist Church, 141 Somerset Church Road, Roxboro NC 27573.
