James William Blalock

Timberlake — James William "Bill" Blalock, 79, of 2474 Dick Holeman Road, Timberlake, died Monday, Janu. 15, 2018. Born in Durham County, he was the son of the late John Thomas Blalock, Sr. and Annie Tilley Blalock. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his siblings Thomas Blalock, Jr., Charlie Blalock and Valeria Blalock Marshall. Mr. Blalock worked at the VA Hospital in the maintenance department for 25 years. He enjoyed old cars and telling jokes to his family and friends. Mr. Blalock was of the Baptist faith.

Surviving are his wife, Lillian G. Blalock of the home; one daughter, Kim McMahan and husband, Kenny of Rougemont; one stepdaughter, Hope Campbell and husband, Rick of Hurdle Mills; one brother, David Blalock and wife, Ethel of Timberlake; two sisters: Lucille Pulliam of Timberlake and Cora Lee Blalock Carver of Hillsborough; three grandchildren: Will McMahan, Rachel Campbell and Jamie Frazier.

Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Friday, Jan.19, 2018 at the Brooks & White Chapel with the Rev. Herbert Brown officiating. Burial will follow in New Bethel United Methodist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service 10 to 11 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a charity of one's choice.
