REALTY TRANSFERS

In recording the real estate transfers, the law does not require that the amount paid for property be stated in deed. However, the State of North Carolina requires a tax stamp on each deed at the rate of $2 for every $1,000 valuation or fraction thereof.

This revenue goes into the General Fund of the counties.
