Nancy Margaret Pixley Wilson Carlton


Nancy Margaret Pixley Wilson Carlton, age 90, formerly of 6385 Boston Road, died Wednesday morning March 12, 2014 at the Hock Family Pavilion.
She was born in Person County to the late Royal B. Pixley Sr. and his wife, Mary Elizabeth Clayton Pixley.  She was preceded in death by husbands, Roy C. Wilson and H. Wade Carlton; she is also predeceased by five brothers and three sisters.  
Mrs. Carlton was a member of Bethel Hill Baptist Church where she was a member of the Addie Hall Sunday School Class.  She was retired from Liggett & Myers after 34 years of employment where she was  a member of the Local 176 Union.
Surviving are her daughter, Kay Wilson Day of Durham, grandchildren, Charles Wilson Tapp (Tziporah) of Washington, D.C. and Crystal Elizabeth Tapp of Charlotte.  She is also survived by her brother Chuck Pixley (Nora), sister Anne Lucretia Lloyd, and best friend Charles Gentry, all of Roxboro.
The family received friends from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Friday, March 14, 2014 at Brooks & White Funeral Home. The funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 15, at Brooks & White Chapel by the Rev. Jason Evans and the Rev. Herbert Brown. The burial will be in the Person Memorial Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Charles Tapp, Brent Tapp, Nate Beach, Scotty Pixley, Gary Pixley and Butch Mathews. Honorary pallbearers will be deacons of Bethel Hill Baptist Church, Frankie Gentry, John Melton and David Pulliam.
Flowers are acceptable or memorials may be made to Bethel Hill Baptist Church, 201 US Old 501 Hwy., Roxboro, NC 27574.
The family wishes to especially thank her sister-in-law Nora Pixley for her exceptional, devoted, and loving care; the Duke Heart Failure team, particularly Karol Harshaw-Ellis and Teresa Cox; and the staff of Cambridge Hills Assisted Living.
