The Latest Agenda


The PERSON BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS will meet in regular session Monday, Jan. 6, at 7 p.m. in room D-215 of the Person County Office Building on Morgan Street.

The ROXBORO COMMUNITY SCHOOL BOARD OF DIRECTORS will meet Monday, Jan. 13 at 6:30 p.m. in the Guidance Conference Room.

PERSON COUNTY AL-ANON meets Thursdays at 7 p.m. at Long Memorial United Methodist Church in Roxboro.

Celebrate Recovery (physical and psychological addiction) meets each Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Westwood Baptist Church in Roxboro. For additional information, call Jim Fulp at 599-2078.

SUBSTANCE ABUSE SUPPORT GROUP meets every Tuesday at 7 p.m. at Reformation Christian Center, 134 Weeks Dr., next to Golden Corral. All are welcome, including family.

The RE-ENTRY PATHWAY 4 SUCCESS, INC. takes applications Monday through Friday from 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. at its office at 20 Court St., Ste. A or call 1-336-291-3144 for more information.


A group organized around the games of CHESS meets each Monday between 5 and 8 p.m. at Piedmont Community College in the student lounge in Building E. Call 599-8587 for summer schedule.

Eligible Person County senior citizens are encouraged to call the Senior Center to make an appointment to apply for N.C.’s Low Income Energy Assistance Program. Call 336-599-7484 to make an appointment or to get more informtion. Applications will be taken by appointment at the Senior Center, located at 121 Depot St. on Jan. 6, 7 and 10 from 9:15 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. You may also visit the Person County Department of Social Service to apply.
