CHURCH ACTIVITIES

Dr. Jerry O. Wilson, Sr., will preach 3 p.m., Sunday, May 20 at SAINT JAMES BAPTIST CHURCH of Leasburg on the occasion of the church’s 150th anniversary.

Wilson started in the gospel ministry in January, 1980. He is the senior pastor of Beulah Missionary Baptist Church, Leasburg, where he has served since 1991 to the present.

The church is also observing its annual homecoming on the same day, with Pastor Haywood Smith preaching at 11 a.m. There will be a meal between services.

NEW EPHESUS BAPTIST CHURCH, located at 375 Ephesus Church Road, Semora, will observe Women in Revival on May 23 through May 25 beginning each night at 7 p.m. The guest preacher for Wednesday is Minister Brenda Hunt-Moore; Thursday is Minister Vanessa Hamlett and Friday is Pastor Samantha Robinson of Firechosen Ministries.

On fourth Sunday, 11 a.m., May 27, New Ephesus will celebrate Women’s Day. Preaching the sermon for this occasion is Minister Tomeka Robinson.

TRIPLE SPRINGS BAPTIST CHURCH, 51 Hal Melton Road, Roxboro, will hold a homecoming, with Sunday school at 10 a.m., and worship service at 11 a.m., Sunday, May 20. There will be gospel singing with the Rivenbanks, meal after worship and gospel, and singing at 2 p.m.

SOMERSET BAPTIST CHURCH, 141 Somerset Church Road, Roxboro, will hold a revival May 20-23. The guest speaker is the Rev. Keith Kimball. The revival will be held 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday and at 7 p.m. Monday to Wednesday.

BAILEY’S CHAPEL AME CHURCH will be hosting their Missionary Day at 3 p.m., May 20. The guest speaker will be Minister Mattie Walton.

An MLK Scholarship Fund Program will be held at GOOD SHEPHERD MINISTRIES at 4 p.m., Sunday, May 20, in Oxford.

Guests appearing include New Creation of Hillsborough, Olive Grove Gospel Choir of Oxford, the Gospel Disciples of Henderson and Covenant of Roanoke Rapids.

FAITH TEMPLE DELIVERANCE BAPTIST CHURCH of Oxford will hold a revival at 7 p.m. nightly June 20-22 at the Mary E. Shaw Memorial Center, 205 Lainer St., Oxford.

There will be a Choir Day Celebration, sponsored by NEW SPRING GOSPEL CHURCH of Creedmoor at 3 p.m., Sunday, May 20.

There will be a CENTRAL CHILDRENS HOME Celebration at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 16, on the campus of the Central Children’s Home in Oxford. Groups appearing are the Visionaires, the New Mighty Soul Lifters, Minister Carl Thorpe and God’s Word, and William Rigsbee the One Man Band.

N.C. Gospel Association’s SOUTHERN GOSPEL PRODUCTIONS presents “Together Thru Songs of Praise” at 6 p.m., May 19 at Vance- Granville Community College in Henderson. Doors open at 5 p.m. Featured will be The Legendary Supreme Angels, The Gospel Imperials, Greg Kelly & Company, Gospel Heralds, The Heavenly Stars, the Visionaires and Gospel Miracles.

Saint Matthew Gospel Chorus is sponsoring a Building Fund Program at 3 p.m., Sunday, June 10 at ST. MATTHEW BAPTIST CHURCH of Oxford. Appearing will be The Singing Deacons, The Melody Voices of Praise, Anointed Believers, The Gospel Angels, The Singing Sisters, New Beginning Gospel Choir, and Minister Carl Thorpe and God’s Word.

Family, Friends and Bikers Day is Sunday, May 20; Church School is at 9:45 a.m. Worship at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Ronnie Gilliam, Louisburg; Zion Hill Baptist Church Choir, Virgilina, will lead the music. Lunch will conclude the service.

The NEW GOSPEL MIRACLES will celebrate their 18th anniversary on Saturday, June 9, at Northern Granville Middle School. Doors open at 5 p.m. and the service starts at 6 p.m.

The GOSPEL HARMONEERS will celebrate their 18th anniversary June 17 at Mariam Boyd Elementary School in Warrenton. Doors open at 2 p.m. and the service starts at 3 p.m.
